Vikings

Surprise! I was asked to paint this vikings quilt as a surprise for a special milestone birthday. It was the first quilt my client ever made and her husband wanted to surprise her with a custom painting of it, commemorating her first quilt!

I often ask clients how much artistic liberty I can take throughout the process, and this was the response “My interest is in having an exciting piece of artwork more so than having an exact copy produced. So please take the freedom to exaggerate as you think will produce great artwork. I completely trust your judgment.”

Needless to say I went a little wild with colour and they were thrilled to see my interpretation.
