Birdhouse

Watercolour, 2020

I had the honour to create this watercolour painting for an old friend whose grandmother passed.  This birdhouse was a signifying piece of her grandmother’s identity and home. These days, it’s weathered and the colour has faded, so I painted it in its original condition to keep her grandmother’s memory bright and alive.

The original painting was gifted to her mother and we created additional prints that were given as gifts to family and friends.

“You made like 50 ppl cry on Christmas! Lol. Tears of happy memories! [During our COVID Christmas] my family drove around the city delivering prints and it was such a  happy, sweet and sentimental gift for everyone!

My mom was so happy and it was such a beautiful gift that we will keep in our family for generations.  Thanks for all your work to make it happen.”
